What's new in Wasoolo 2.4.0: invite a shopkeeper, and you both get Pro free

Wasoolo 2.4.0 adds Invite & earn. Send your invite link to a shopkeeper you know: the day he opens Wasoolo with your code he gets 1 month Pro free, and as he really starts using it you earn free Pro months yourself. In Pakistan you also earn 20% cash of his first payment.

Where to find it

Open the More tab and look near the bottom, under the app section. Invite & earn sits there with a gift icon (1). It is a normal door. No form to fill in, no application, nothing to switch on. Tap it and your code is already made. It opens even when you have no signal, from the last thing it saw, and a small line tells you how old those numbers are — so you are never left at a spinner in a shop with no bars.

If you have never bought a plan, a card offering the same thing appears on your Home screen once your account is a few days old. Close it with the × and it stays gone for about two weeks.

Your code and your link

The screen shows two things you can hand out. Your code is six characters a dukandar can type by hand. Your link is wasoolo.com/r/ followed by that code. Open it on a phone and it explains the offer and sends him to the right store. Each has its own copy button (1), and the Invite now bar at the bottom opens WhatsApp with the message already written.

Send the link, not just the code, when you can. A code typed wrong is a code that does nothing, and the link carries it for him.

What the shopkeeper you invite gets

He gets 1 month Pro free, the day he joins. It lands by itself. There is no button for him to press and nothing to claim. His account is simply Pro when he first opens it.

Three things have to be true for it to work. He must be new to Wasoolo, he must open a shopkeeper account (not a customer login), and he must use your code within a few days of signing up. A shopkeeper who already has Wasoolo cannot be invited, and neither can a second account on a phone that has already been used once.

What you earn

Your own Pro months are earned, not given. Nothing lands the day your friend joins. Your months arrive as he really starts using Wasoolo for his own shop: real customers, real khatas, days he actually opens the app. The screen shows how many you have earned and how many are waiting for your current plan to run out, because a month is never wasted on top of a month you already have.

The 20% cash, and when you can take it out

If your shop is in Pakistan, there is money as well. When a shopkeeper you invited buys Pro, 20% of that first payment becomes yours.

Say he takes a plan at Rs 2,000. Rs 400 goes into your balance. It is held for 30 days first, because that is the window a store payment can still be refunded in. Money that comes back to him cannot stay with you. After 30 days it moves to Ready to take out.

From Rs 3,000 you can ask for it. The first time, you send your ID once and write down a bank, Easypaisa or JazzCash account in your own name. Then press Withdraw. Every request is read by a person before any money moves, so it is not instant. But it is real, and the screen tells you exactly where each rupee is: held, ready, or already paid.

It is one level only. You earn from the shopkeepers you invite, and from nobody else's.

Your customers and your staff can invite too

This is not only for shop owners. Anyone with a Wasoolo login can invite a shopkeeper and earn the same 20% cash: a customer using the customer app, an employee on your shop's team. An employee's referral money is his own; a shop owner never sees it.

Their screen says so plainly, because the rule is easy to get wrong: only a new shopkeeper counts. A customer who sends his code to another customer earns nothing (1).

Pro months stay with shopkeepers, because Pro is what a shop uses.

If somebody sent you a code

If you opened Wasoolo before your friend's code reached you, it is not too late. A small Have an invite code? line sits under the login form, and the same line is in Settings once you are signed in. Tap it, type the six characters, press Apply.

It only works on a new account, so do it in the first few days. Wasoolo is 100% FREE to download on Android and iPhone either way.

Invite & earn is the headline, but 2.4.0 carries a round of fixes with it, and a few of them change what you see.

• Cancelling or changing an installment plan takes its profit back. Cancel a qist plan and the profit you added when you made it comes off the customer's balance, with a grey Installment profit removed line dated today. The original charge stays on its own date, so your old months do not move.
• Your own reminders stay yours. A staff phone no longer keeps a copy of the reminders you wrote for yourself.
• Adding a customer with no signal cannot stall the shop. One customer saved offline used to be able to hold up everything else until it was cleared.
• Product import reads more headings. "Buy Rate" and "Opening Stock" are understood now, and a buying rate too big to be real is refused with the row named, instead of being quietly changed.
• Long titles shrink instead of being cut. The Total business worth pages fit their headings on a small phone instead of chopping them.
• The customer's payment box has a ceiling. A pasted twenty-digit number can no longer become a payment request.

Common questions

Do I have to buy anything to invite people?

No. Invite & earn is open on a free account. Your code is made the first time you open the screen, and nothing about it depends on the plan you are on.

When exactly do I get my free Pro month?

Not when your friend joins, but when he really uses Wasoolo. The app looks at whether his shop is alive: customers added, khatas written, days he actually opened it. Your months appear on the Invite & earn screen as they are earned.

I already have Pro. Is the free month wasted?

No. It waits. The screen shows it under "waiting", and it starts the day your current plan runs out.

Can I earn the 20% cash outside Pakistan?

Not today. The cash reward is Pakistan only, and outside it the screen never shows you a rupee, only your friend's free month, which works everywhere. If that changes you will see it on the same screen.

What happens if my friend asks for his money back?

The commission goes with it. That is exactly what the 30-day hold is for: money that a store refunds was never really earned, and nothing is paid out until that window has closed.

Can I invite the same person twice, or invite myself?

No. A code works once per account and once per phone, ever, and your own code cannot be used on your own account. There is no way to earn twice from one shop.
